Organized rallies and protests escalate across the country.
California experienced a dozen organized rallies in Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco as Californians made their disapproval known. Carrying signs with phrases such as “Open Cali”, “Defend Freedom”, and “End his tyranny”, referring to California Governor Gavin Newsom, the protesters demanded that Gov. Newsom’s stay-at-home orders be reversed.
In Michigan, things got more concerning; protesters brandished firearms outside of the state capitol and, after getting their temperatures checked, entered the building while lawmakers were in session. Some were prevented from entering chambers by armed security. This discontent with stay-at-home orders is further reflected in states such as North Carolina, Illinois, and Kentucky, and more protests have been planned in other states this weekend.
